Since 2010, Magic of Persia has partnered with the London Film School (LFS) to provide scholarships for Iranian students to attend its 2-year MA filmmaking course.
An advisory committee, comprised of respected individuals from within the Iranian filmmaking community, put forward a list of potential candidates, which is then review by Magic of Persia. Subsequently, the candidates who meet the eligibility criteria are selected by LFS via the school’s application process.
Since 1956, the London Film School has trained thousands of directors, cinematographers, editors and other film professionals now working across the globe. It is recognised as a leading private film school in the UK and is one of only two institutions which solely provides postgraduate film courses in the UK.
The scholarship was launched on 7th July 2010, with a panel discussion chaired by Dr Hamid Naficy, entitled "Iranian Dispora and its Cinematic Imagination". For more information on this event, please click here.
